Entries have now closed for the 75th anniversary edition of Secto Rally Finland. The entry list offers fans an exceptionally strong competitive field featuring the biggest stars of the FIA World Rally Championship. All three Rally1 manufacturers will arrive in Jyväskylä with full-strength line-ups, giving spectators one final opportunity to witness the current generation of Rally1 cars at full pace on the legendary special stages of Central Finland.
– Rally1 will be at its very best. All three manufacturers are bringing their full line-ups, Toyota will field as many as five cars in its home event, and all of the sport’s biggest stars will be here. It’s also fantastic to see two top Finnish drivers, Sami Pajari and Esapekka Lappi, in the field. They will undoubtedly receive tremendous support from the home crowd, says Clerk of the Course Kai Tarkiainen.
A total of eleven Rally1 cars will contest this year’s event. Toyota Gazoo Racing will field five GR Yaris Rally1 cars for championship leader Elfyn Evans, Sébastien Ogier, Takamoto Katsuta, Oliver Solberg and Sami Pajari.
Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team will enter Thierry Neuville, Adrien Fourmaux and, to the delight of Finnish fans, 2017 Rally Finland winner Esapekka Lappi.
– It’s absolutely fantastic to have the chance to compete in my home rally with a Rally1 car once again. The last few editions have left me wanting more, so this time we’re simply going to enjoy the rally and the atmosphere rather than put too much pressure on ourselves about the result. Of course we’re taking it seriously, but with a more relaxed approach. This will be the last time these incredible Rally1 cars will be seen in Central Finland, and it could also be my final opportunity, so I just want to enjoy every moment as much as possible, says Lappi.
M-Sport Ford World Rally Team will also field three Puma Rally1 cars, driven by Mārtiņš Sesks, Joshua McErlean and Jon Armstrong.
This year’s anniversary event also carries historical significance. The current generation of Rally1 cars is competing in its final World Rally Championship season before the introduction of new technical regulations in 2027. Secto Rally Finland 2026 will therefore offer fans one last chance to experience the championship’s premier class at full speed on Finland’s iconic gravel roads.
WRC2 Showcases the Stars of Tomorrow
The WRC2 field at Secto Rally Finland is exceptionally strong. Among those entered are championship leader Roope Korhonen, Emil Lindholm, Teemu Suninen, Gus Greensmith, Yohan Rossel, Nikolay Gryazin and Robert Virves. They are joined by several outstanding young prospects aiming to reach rallying’s highest level, including rising Finnish talent Tuukka Kauppinen.
To the delight of the fans, Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT Team Principal Jari-Matti Latvala will also return to competition, adding even more quality to an already outstanding field.
– WRC2 is currently one of the most exciting categories in rallying. It features the stars of tomorrow, many of whom will be competing in Rally1 within the next few years. As the technical regulations evolve, the importance of Rally2 cars will become even greater. Secto Rally Finland is an ideal event for drivers to demonstrate their speed, and I’m convinced several future factory drivers will emerge from this field, Tarkiainen says.
The WRC3 category also features a strong international line-up, while the entire FIA Junior WRC field will compete on the fast gravel roads of Central Finland. Every regular Junior WRC competitor is entered for Secto Rally Finland.
Once again, the entry list underlines Secto Rally Finland’s status as one of the most prestigious events on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar. During the 75th anniversary edition, the world’s best drivers, the stars of tomorrow and passionate rally fans will once again come together on the legendary gravel roads of Central Finland from 30 July to 2 August 2026.
