Katsuta on a winning streak
Takamoto Katsuta continued his strong run of form by winning Croatia Rally, securing his second consecutive WRC victory. Sunday once again proved decisive, with the win only settled on the Power Stage. The Japanese driver capitalised on late twists in the battle for the lead and sealed the victory.
Croatia’s demanding and variable asphalt placed a premium on rhythm and precision throughout the weekend. Katsuta maintained a consistently high level of performance and delivered when the opportunity arose at the crucial moment.
From a Finnish perspective, the rally delivered a major highlight as Sami Pajari finished second. It marks Pajari’s best result to date in the top class of the FIA World Rally Championship. His performance was built on consistency and control, avoiding major mistakes – exactly the kind of approach rewarded on rallies like Croatia.
Pajari remained closely in contention throughout the weekend and demonstrated his ability to match the leading pace in the WRC, also on asphalt. The result further strengthens his position as one of the rising names in the championship.
The WRC season continues at a rapid pace, with attention already turning to the next round, Rally Islas Canarias, held in the Canary Islands.
